VillageS of the BerKSHIRES

Our village is part of the National Village to Village movement, a coming together of older Americans who are taking charge of their futures as they grow older. The Movement emerged as a natural response to an age old problem – how to independently remain in our homes as we age. In 1993, the first Village – Beacon Hill Village – was conceived in Boston, Massachusetts. The Village concept is based on a community of people who pool their resources and help each other.

The Village model has been adopted in over 300 different locations across the country with many more Villages in development.
